CHORUMO
Jean Claude Izzo
Fabio Montale, un poliziotto in pensione si trova improvvisamente a dover lavorare ad un caso che risveglia in lui tutti i ricordi di una vita: un giorno sua cugina, which he 's always been in love, looks' cause his son and' gone home after a quarrel. Montale soon discovers that the boy and 'stumbled upon the scene of a crime, an Algerian intellectual, who did not spare him either. Here begins an investigation in which Montale returns to his life as a policeman, meetings with colleagues connive with the bad, the problem of racial integration, the fact that the fundamentalists seek their prey among young people believe to have no other future, exactly where the young people themselves delves into the organized crime.
"Chourmo," he says at one point Montale, in Provencal means the crew, the rowers of the galley. The fun-club of a band of raggamuffin had taken up this term for its members. The chourmo raise funds to follow the concerts, to distribute the music at low cost outside the official circuit, but above all the spirit chourmo meant to meet, no matter what neighborhood you come from, what religion professed, what are your crimes, by which blood flows in your veins, it is important to chourmo, know that despite our differences we are all in the same boat and rowing together we can save you a sense of brotherhood that is the opposite of what is called war between poor.
"Chourmo", termine Provencal which gives its name to the book and whose meaning is extended to something like "get the affairs of others," do their own joys and their sufferings. In fact, here the good Fabio Montale, only formally a former policeman, is investigating a story that sees indirectly involved his beloved cousin and will have a devastating impact on the lives of all ... But for now the best for me is "total mess" and that is why I give 4 stars out of 5! "
